About Sam Clare

I'm Sam Clare, a college student in Worcester, MA.

Although I nearly went to art school, due to personal circumstances, I was unable to, and now I study Comparative Literature and History, with a focus in genocide.

However, I still love art more than I can possibly say, enough that I continue creating in my free time.
I took art classes through my public education system when I was a kid, and then began taking classes in Manga Drawing when I was 12. These continued until I was 15, when I took a year of Fantasy Art drawing at the same art school before needing to begin at my part-time job. I did a 2-day program at the Worcester Art Museum in Calligraphy and Mosaics, and a 4-day Drawing Intensive program at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston during my sophomore year in high school.
In addition to this, throughout high school I took the elective, high-level art classes to the most advanced level offered. During the summer of 2016, I did a pre-college "Young Artist Residency" at Lesley University, where I studied Video Production, Illustration, Graphic Design, Art Business Practices, and Anatomy and Figure Drawing.

I have received numerous Scholastic Awards for Art at the levels of Silver Key and Honorable Mention. I was one of two high school students elected to attend Art All-State Massachusetts, a highly selective 3-day art program.

My work has been featured in various exhibits in Eastern Mass as part of student displays, and I have done commissioned work for creating advertisements before.

At my current position, I use my graphic design skills to create flyers, newsletters, and advertisements for events sponsored by the department.
